Why consult a Homeopath ?
People consult a homeopath for some many different reasons. These can be from a general sense that you could feel better and have more energy, through to acute illnesses, or for help with more deep seated and limiting health challenges. Homeopathy can be used alongside any treatment and advice you may choose to receive from medical or other complementary practitioners. Lyssa works with people of all ages, from newborn, children, teenagers and men and women at all stages of life with a wide range of health concerns.
Homeopathic remedies are non-toxic, safe and gentle and so are ideal for use during pregnancy, while breastfeeding and for babies and children.
What is Homeopathy ?
Homeopathy is a system of complementary, energetic medicine with a two hundred year history of observation, exploration and practical, clinical experience. We are all unique, experiencing illness and dis-ease in individual ways. With Homeopathy, the totality of your emotional, mental and physical symptoms are seen as important expressions of your health and state of being. Health, illness and healing are all fluid, dynamic and constantly moving - not single static events.
The word Homeopathy comes from the Greek words "Homoios" which means similar and "pathos" meaning suffering.
One of the fundamental principles is known as “like cures like” or the Law of Similars, which dates back to Hippocrates and is also found in Ancient Egyptian and Greek medicine. The Law of Similars states that a substance which can cause a particular pattern of effects can also be used to stimulate a healing response to a similar picture of symptoms. In Homeopathic practice we use this by prescribing more dilute, dynamic amounts of a substance to address a symptom pattern of imbalance and dis-ease.
Homeopathic remedies are made from many sources, from nature and the world around us, including many different plants, minerals and elements. Remedies carry the energetic pattern of the source material.
Each remedy is prescribed depending on what is the best match for pattern of health and symptoms.
