Food Intolerance Testing
with Clare Bartos, Nutritional Advisor and Rossella Riccobono, Nutritional Therapist
There are numerous factors that determine our health and help to prevent disease. Clare and Rossella are interested in the interaction between these factors, and believe that good nutrition suited to our individual make up is one of the key components. There are fundamental truths in most common sayings and “we are what we eat” is no exception to this rule! However, perhaps "we are what we absorb" is more apt, considering food intolerances inhibit absorption of nutrients required for optimal body function. Research demonstrates that the chronic inflammation resulting from food intolerance leads to many of the unpleasant complaints that we experience today.
These include:
Additionally chronic inflammation can lead to serious disease. Through testing for intolerances, adjusting diet and lifestyle, the therapist aims to help clients reduce or resolve their existing health problems and help to prevent future illness.
Consultations involve discussion about existing health issues, lifestyle and diet in order to assess whether intolerance testing might be appropriate. If a client decides that they would like to have a food intolerance test, blood will be drawn by way of a small prick to the thumb. Clare or Rossella will help interpret your results and offer guidance and suggestions to help you adjust your diet accordingly.

Rossella Riccobono - Nutritional Therapist DipION mBANT mCNHC
I have a passion for food and the therapeutic value which it brings to our lives, from both a social and health viewpoint. I have worked with food nutrients and dietary changes for many years to help individuals rebalance their digestive system, and reclaim their health. I love working with people to help them feel their best through eating optimal foods to best suit their body's needs, reduce inflammation and re-educate them about healthy eating. Inclusion of a high and diverse variety of foods can be key in resolving digestive issues to incorporate beneficial nutrients. I work in a holistic manner, listening to each clients' story to identify and address any physiological imbalances. Food intolerance test results are an effective tool which allow me to advise on the source and use of food, recommend ways to temporarily replace nutrients, target imbalances in a functional manner and support the reintroduction of foods once symptoms have resolved.
