About Sei-ki
The literal translation of Sei-Ki is 'treatment of life energy'.
Treatments take place on a futon at floor level the client wears loose comfortable clothing.
The practitioner holds points until a resonance is felt which may develop into Katsugen (spontaneous corrective movement).
Sei-Ki can be deeply relaxing but can connect with life issues at a deeper level.
Sei-Ki is about eliminating unwanted energies, it can assist in affecting change on physical and emotional levels, help move life’s issues into a more clear perspective and help the re-establishment of harmony.
Sei-Ki unravels the everyday pressures that push us into physical and emotional distortions.
Sei-Ki focuses on the here and now, helps eliminate confusion, aids healing, helping us to let go of our physical and emotional problems.
The practitioner helps clients find their own way, making space to regain harmony.
Se-Ki helps us to accept and deal with every situation as it occurs.
The Origins of Sei-Ki
Akinobu Kishi 1949-2012 was the founder of Sei-Ki.
Through observing his father's expertise in Judo, he discovered the significance of the Hara and movement. In keeping with Japanese tradition, he trained in Shiatsu, completing his studies with the Namikoshi, the originator of Shiatsu Therapy, and Masunaga, the founder of Zen Shiatsu. Aged 29, Kishi became ill, so he developed his own method of healing called Sei-Ki - big changes occurred.
Originating in Shinto, inspired at times by Daoist, Zen and other teaching traditions, Kishi's method encompasses all of this, looking beyond to the basis of our own condition.
