Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician Having qualified in 1975, Rob gained extensive experience as a GP in East Lothian for 30 years. His principal interest is primary and secondary prevention of disease and the specialty of Lifestyle Medicine (LM). As well as leading his NHS team to the highest awards for quality (2003-2013) he also founded a charity in 1991, ELCRG, for providing rehabilitation in venues around East Lothian for sufferers of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, stroke, lung disease and frailty. He has retired from NHS practice to concentrate on the applications of Lifestyle Medicine to healthcare. He is an Assessor, Faculty Board member and Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners. In 2016 he co-founded the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine – is its current Chairman, is President of the European Lifestyle Medicine Council and sits on the Board of the LM Global Alliance. |
