Thai Massage
Lynne Turnbull
Thai massage uses perpendicular pressure, acupressure and passive yoga-like stretches to clear energetic blockages and release muscular tension, whilst enabling the free flow of blood and lymph vessels. It is particularly good for:
- reducing back, neck and shoulder pain
- improving postural issues and mobilising joints
- awakening stagnant and tight areas of the body
- creating space for freer movement and deeper breathing
- becoming grounded; coming back down into your body once more
- letting the thinking mind settle
- allowing the body's natural healing mechanisms to arise
- promoting relaxation
- increasing energy
I use my thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows and feet to apply firm but gentle pressure, moving in slowly and building up to deeper pressure if you prefer. I also apply passive yoga-like stretches to encourage your body to open up. I am happy to work gently or at a deeper level - it’s up to you and how you feel on the day. Most importantly, I focus on developing trust so you feel safe enough to relax and receive the work.
Other elements of my life influence my massage practice - my Reiki Level 2 training, my daily Yoga / Qi Gong practice and being a mother - a continual practice in loving kindness and patience!
I gained my Thai Yoga Massage Diploma at Thai Massage Training Scotland - https://stmts.co.uk
1 hour session - £45
90 minute session - £60
